Tooth Mug Workshop: with Philip

Create a mug that’s equal parts creepy and captivating in this unique hands-on workshop led by Phillip. Inspired by vintage oddities, monster folklore, and all things spooky, you’ll design and build your own tooth-rimmed ceramic mug that is sure to stand out in any collection.
Students will begin by throwing a sturdy mug form on the pottery wheel before learning techniques for sculpting and attaching dozens of individually crafted teeth around the rim. Whether you envision your mug as eerie, whimsical, monstrous, or delightfully unsettling, you’ll receive step-by-step guidance throughout the creative process.
This workshop is ideal for students who have basic wheel-throwing experience and are comfortable centering and pulling a simple mug form. More experienced potters are encouraged to add their own creative details, textures, and sculptural elements to make their piece truly one of a kind.

During the first session, students will learn basic clay hand building skills as they design and construct a functional jar. From cute cats and playful puppies to frogs, dragons, owls, and completely original creations, each child will have the opportunity to personalize their project with unique features, textures, and details.
In the second half of the session, students will return to glaze their jars using colorful ceramic glazes. They will learn basic glazing techniques while adding the finishing touches that make their artwork truly one of a kind.

Pottery Chia Pets: Kids Summer Workshop With Celeste

Get ready for a workshop where art meets nature! In this fun-filled summer class, young artists will create their own ceramic Chia Pet-inspired planter, designed to grow real plants and “hair” once it’s finished and planted at home.
During the first session, students will learn basic handbuilding techniques as they shape and sculpt a unique clay character. Whether they create a silly monster, a funny face, a favorite animal, or an imaginative creature of their own design, each project will be completely one of a kind. Students will learn how to build a functional planter while adding creative details, textures, and personality to their design.
In the second half of the session, students will glaze their creations using colorful ceramic glazes. They will learn basic glazing techniques and bring their characters to life with vibrant colors and finishing touches.
This workshop is perfect for beginners and encourages creativity, hands-on learning, and artistic exploration in a fun and supportive environment.

Due to the size and drying requirements of these sculptures, finished pieces will remain at the studio for firing after the final class. Pots are expected to be ready for pickup approximately 6–8 weeks after the glazing session. Students will be notified when their work is available for collection.
